Two Chapter Community Meetings in September – Milton and Burlington

Information posted September 3, 2012

As we announced in an earlier newsletter beginning in September we will be holding our monthly Chapter Community meetings in both Milton and Burlington. The same presentations will be featured at both locations.

As well as significantly increasing our meeting space this will also have the added benefit of allowing members who cannot attend at one location to consider attending at the other. Both meetings are open to everyone in Halton Region.

Our Milton meeting will be held  on Wednesday September 12th  at the Seniors Activity Centre, 500 Childs Drive, Milton.

Our Burlington meeting will be held on Tuesday September 25th at the Seniors Centre, 2285 New Street, Burlington.

Our meetings at both locations will be held in the evening. Doors will open at 6.30pm and the meetings will take place between 7.00pm and 9.00pm. Coffee and tea will be available

The theme for our September meetings will be:

Manage your health, and weight for life!

DIETS DON’T WORK: MOVING BEYOND DIETS:

NEW DISCOVERIES IN METABOLIC SCIENCE:

“95% of dieters will regain the lost pounds and many will put on extra weight”.

For all those who might be dealing with a weight issue, or who know someone who is, this promises to be an informative and inspiring talk!

Both meetings will begin with a welcoming address from our Chairperson, Tom Carrothers.

Tom will also provide an update on your CARP Halton Chapter and CARP National activities.

This will be followed by our keynote speaker, Mr. Paul McIntosh,

Paul is the driving force behind the Lifeweight Weight Management Coaching practice. He will describe what he has learned after his 30 year struggle to manage his own weight. He will discuss the challenges facing Canadians, and conclude with the principles and practice of successful weight management coaching that he has used.

Paul’s presentation  will start with the story of his struggle with his weight, and how he successfully ended this struggle by losing 60 pounds over the course of a year.

Paul will share four fundamental weight management and healthy eating learnings he had during his journey.

He will then talk about the six big challenges all Canadians face today in the area of weight management. You will learn just why it can be so difficult to find the right solution to your own weight management situation.

Paul will conclude his presentation with a look at how the Lifeweight process works – both the principles and the actual practice of weight management coaching.

There will be a break mid-way through the meetings which will allow time for you to discuss your health and weight management requirements with our sponsors, see below.

The meetings will conclude with a few closing remarks from Tom and our 50/50 draw. We encourage you to support this draw as proceeds help defray the costs of putting on our meetings.

We will be very pleased to welcome the following sponsors to our meetings.
