Halton Chapter is delighted with the growing attendance at our monthly Milton meetings and our pre-Christmas social evening held at the Milton Senior Activity Centre on Wednesday November 14th was no exception. Over 40 members and their friends enjoyed a lively evening of good food, entertainment and socializing.

Superb refreshments were provided by Chartwell Classic of Oakville. Over the fall, Chartwell has become a great supporter of CARP Halton Chapter. Their creative Chef, Anna, prepared a sampling of exceptional food that was enjoyed by all, including our surprise guest – SANTA.

Santa offers a candy cane to Mike Cumpstey of Chartwell Classic while casting his eyes over the huge selection of delicious food available.

With the audience entering into the spirit of the occasion Santa quickly recruited reindeer and apprentices from the audience and had them all participating as fellow reindeer of Rudolf.

Santa shares a few Christmas stories……..

Our entertainer Aidan Purnell accompanied Santa in a few Christmas songs…..

……with more recruits………

Before departing for his next adventure Santa left us with a very important message.

With Santa gone merrily on his way guest Aidan Purnell continued to entertain the audience with his easy-listening and toe tapping music …….

which became soon became a sing-a-long and even encouraged dancing.
CARP Halton Chapter is most grateful to ListenUP Canada, Chartwell Classic, Terra Greenhouses, Nordixx Canada, Gem Healthcare and Milton Orthotic and Wellness Centre who supported our evening and donated draw prizes with values from $40.00 to $200.00. The following photographs show a few of the lucky winners.

Jim Bailey won the Seasonal plant.

Ron Johnston won the $200 gift certificate donated by Milton Orthotic and Wellness Centre.

And Katherine Kirner won a set of Nordic Poles donated by Nordixx Canada.
The Milton Salvation Army also joined us and spoke about the ever increasing needs of the local community and to encourage volunteers particularly over the Christmas Season. We would like to thank the many attendees who brought contributions to the Milton Food Bank.
We look forward to another fun evening of entertainment in Burlington on November 27. So if you could not make this one be sure to join us at Burlington. We look forward to seeing you there. You will find the announcement for the social evenings “In the Spotlight” on this webpage.
