Alzheimer Society of Hamilton and Halton

The Alzheimer Society of Hamilton and Halton offer many free services for those having been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia and for those supporting people with this diagnosis. These include:

  • First Link Education. an Education Series for persons with dementia, their care partners and friends.
  • Counselling.
  • Discussion Groups.
  • Volunteer Visiting Service.
  • Safely Home.
  • Psychogeriatric Resource Consulting Service.
  • Lending Library.

Discussion Groups provide a place to exchange information, obtain support and form friendships with others whose lives are affected by dementia. Discussions Groups are held at various locations throughout Halton Region. If you would like more information please CLICK HERE

You can also drop in at their “Let’s Get Together Café” every Friday morning from 10.00am to 11.30am. Please CLICK HERE for details.

You may also like to join them in Hamilton on December 5th or in Oakville on December 12th for an evening of entertainment, music and dancing.  Please click either of the dates for more information for that location.

Their First Link Learning Series offers many educational programs throughout the year.

Coming up in November there will be a 3-session series “Care Essentials” which will focus on the middle stages of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia. Please CLICK HERE   for more information.

In December there will be a 2-session series “Options for Care” which will provide the opportunity to evaluate current care giving needs and explore other care giving options available. Please click on this link OPTIONS FOR CARE for more information.
