Here is a volunteer opportunity that you might find interesting and rewarding with the Halton Multicultural Council.

The Community Connections Youth Program is looking for VOLUNTEER TUTORS to assist newcomer youth between the ages of 13 to 24 with their homework and school assignments.

Volunteers are required on Mondays throughout February, March, April, May and June between the hours of 3pm – 6pm. Location: 1092, Speers Road in Oakville.

Duties for the volunteer position:

  •  Assist newcomer youth with their daily homework assignments
  • Assist newcomer youth in the essay writing and editing process
  • Assist newcomer youth with writing assignments for courses such as: History, Geography, Civics & Careers, Social Studies, COMM (Communication) college courses etc.
  • Help newcomer youth build their vocabulary and writing skills
