City of Burlington Invites Residents to Participate in Budget Workshop

Information posted January 24, 2013

Please see the following invitation to Burlington residents to participate in an interactive workshop on the City of Burlington’s 2013 Budget.

The City of Burlington’s proposed 2013 capital and current budgets have now been prepared for consideration by the city’s budget and corporate services committee. The city is inviting residents and community groups to participate in an interactive consultation meeting and workshop on the budget. This is your personal invitation to attend the session on:

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

7 – 9:30 p.m.

Burlington Art Centre – Shoreline Room

1333 Lakeshore Road

At this interactive session you will learn about the city’s proposed 2013 current and capital budgets and the impact the budget will have on 2013 property taxes. Your input is needed regarding the key issues related to three of the strategic objectives identified in the city’s Long Term Financial Plan, business cases, and the city’s infrastructure funding level.

The evening will include a presentation on the 2013 budget followed by small table discussions so that you can share your ideas.  A facilitator will work with each group.

The presentation on the 2013 budget will be webcast on the city’s website.  An online version of the workbook will also be available at www.burlington.ca/budget2013 as of January 31, 2013. Background information on the budget and the budget process is also available on the city’s website.

We look forward to your input.

Sincerely,

Joan Ford

Director of Finance
