AGM A Success

The White Rock/Surrey Chapter 11 AGM was held last night, Thursday, September 26th at the White Rock Community Centre Gallery.

It was a well-attended event with wonderful guest speakers including artist Chris MacClure who spoke about the International Artists Festival to be held in White Rock the week of October 21st.  Your CARP chapter will be sponsoring two artists.

There was fabulous jewelry on display by Bonnie Goodwin and her sister.

There were two speakers from ICBC including Karen Klein, the Road Safety person for White Rock/Surrey as well as driver examiner, Peter Bibby who spoke about the road testing for those 80 and over who require re-examination on the advice of their doctors. We had the pleasure of welcoming incoming Chair of the newly-formed Richmond Chapter, Dr. Victor Pauls and Vice-chair, Mr. Stephen Cheung, pictured above with Denice Thompson, Ramona Kaptyn and April Lewis.

AGM business was conducted and our chapter is in excellent financial health.

Ramona Kaptyn will continue as Chair and Acting Treasurer; Denice Thompson as Events Director and Acting Membership Director; April Lewis as Communications Director and Pattie Petrala as Secretary.  We welcome new Board members Bob Munn and Andrea McCorkell.

Past Chair Jack Mar and Pat McNaughton and Doug Mallory have stepped down but will continue to support our Chapter.
