CARP OKANAGAN – UN Int’l Day of Older Persons Celebration

“A Tribute to the Arts & Culture in Celebration of  UN International Day of Older Persons”

On October 1, 2013, the Okanagan Chapter of the Canadian Association of Retired Persons (CARP) will be joining chapters across Canada in celebrating International Day of Older Persons.

The Okanagan chapter will be celebrating this day by recognizing the contribution of older persons, particularly in the area of arts and culture. This year’s theme, as identified by the UN is: “The future we want: What older persons are saying,” emphasizing the importance of putting ageing on the international development agenda. Please see below for the UN history and background. CARP Okanagan, with the generous sponsorship of the Okanagan Chateau, would like to invite its members and honored guests – older adults over 100 and others who contribute cultural richness to their communities – to a FREE concert, art exhibit, and reception OPEN TO EVERYONE!
