Mississauga CARP Chapter pushes for CPP reform!

In November, 2013, CARP chapters acted in a coordinated, cross country letter campaign directed at their respective provincial finance ministers, premiers, and federal Finance Minister James Flaherty. In the letters, CARP chapters urged the political leaders to act on CPP enhancement and to provide the political leadership current and future generations of working Canadians expect.

Over 32 and counting CARP chapters participated in the campaign and in many cases multiple chapters from each province participated, including Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, and BC.

CARP chapters told the respective political leaders that today’s seniors understand that increasing the CPP is will not help current retirees but that it is just as important to give upcoming retirees and future generations of Canadians the best chance at preparing and saving for retirement.
