Trudeau to headline CARP AGM October 24; expect to announce position on pensions

Toronto, ON: CARP will welcome federal Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau to its Annual General Meeting and Chapter Congress in Toronto. Mr. Trudeau will host a Town Hall with the leadership of 53 CARP chapters from across the country. OPEN TO THE MEDIA. 

CARP leaders from across Canada will want to hear what the Liberal Leader has to say about their priority issues retirement security, access to health care and end of life care especially as the next federal election is just around the corner. CARP members are the countrys most prolific and politically engaged voters. Mr. Trudeau will have a lively session! said Susan Eng, VP, Advocacy for CARP.

The CARP AGM has previously hosted former Ontario Finance Minister Dwight Duncan, federal Seniors Minister Alice Wong, Opposition Leader Tom Mulcair and PEI Finance Minister Wes Sheridan each time to announce their proposals in response to CARP advocacy. In the run up to the 2015 federal election, this will be the first major opportunity for the CARP leadership to hear directly from the Liberal Leader on his proposals for better retirement security, access to home care and better health care and end of life care.
