CARP Richmond-Delta Chapter is promoting two special Songs of Remembrance Concerts in Richmond on Nov 7th at 7:30 PM and Tsawwassen on Nov 11th at 2:30 PM
The Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir and Band of the 15th Field Regiment present “With Glowing Hearts: Songs of Remembrance”
Join Canada’s largest male choir and premier military reserve band in a musical journey reflecting upon the innocence and optimism of the wartime era.
We hope you are able to join us on a musical journey back to the beginning of the last century, and experience the innocence and optimism of the era through the music of the time. The rousing marches and patriotic music that rallied the troops as the country prepared to defend freedom in Europe will contrast with the songs of those left behind to keep the home fires burning.
More than half a million Canadians served overseas between 1914 and 1918. Over 100,000 never came home. Letters home from some of the young men in the Canadian Expeditionary Force will remind you of what life was like in the muddy trenches of the Western Front as the choir and band combine to pay tribute to those who gave their lives in the Great War.
With Glowing Hearts: Songs of Remembrance is guaranteed to lift your spirits, bring a tear to your eye and send you home singing an old time melody!
