Concerned about its costs, two seniors groups have organized a public meeting to talk about the Maley Drive extension.

The local chapter of the Canadian Association of Retired Persons (CARP) and Friendly to Seniors – Sudbury, have arranged a presentation for Feb. 26 at the Canadian Legion Branch 76, Weller St.

Thomas Price, an engineering process analyst, will review the Maley Drive extension as it relates to the reality of present traffic patterns and possible future needs.

“The two local seniors organizations have particular interest as cost of construction and ongoing maintenance of any new road construction in the city will likely contribute to increased taxation, which can impact to a significant degree on those with fixed incomes,” a release from organizers said.
