Eng responds by saying that most Canadians would like to think that hospitals have protocols, yet there is no indication that this is the case. When asked about what kind of protocols should be in place, Eng says that the patient’s caregiver or a hospital volunteer should be called to accompany the person to their home to ensure their safety.
