President, CEO and Chair of a New Vision of Aging, Moses Znaimer, has announced Wanda Morris is the new Vice-President of Advocacy.

Wanda, who replaces Susan Eng, comes to CARP from Dying With Dignity Canada, where as CEO, she led a strategic campaign for legislative change leading up to the Supreme Court of Canada decision on the issue of doctor-assisted death.

Moses says ”I am confident that Wanda will apply all of her expertise and experience for the benefit of CARP and our 300,000 members Canada-wide.”

Wanda Morris stopped by Zoomer Radio studios to discuss how she’ll use her experience to help the group and its 300-thousand members.

”I’ve had a lot of deep experience with the Dying With Dignity campaign and legalizing physician-assisted dying.  It’s also made me aware of the breadth of issues we have in health.  So I’d like to take some of the campaigning experience I have and use that to apply to a broader range of health issues.  I’m also an accountant by training, so CARP is a real supporter of financial reform, pension reform, investor protection.  I’m excited to use those parts of my skill set and help advocate there as well.”

You can hear Libby Znaimer’s full interview with Wanda Morris this Sunday following the noon news on ”The Zoomer Week in Review” on Zoomer Radio, the New AM 740, also 96.7 FM downtown.
