CARP is a partner on the project between the City of Toronto and the National Initiative for the Care of the Elderly (NICE) to continue the Intergenerational HomeShare Project to Toronto after a successful pilot in 2018.

As part of this project, older adults who have a spare room or space in their home are paired with a university or college student for a semester. In exchange for reduced rental costs the student provides up to ten hours/week contributing to the dynamics of the home. This could include sharing a meal together, helping with light chores, running errands or walking a pet.

Do you know an older adult or student in Toronto who might benefit by participating in this program?
