CARP appoints Bill VanGorder as Interim Chief Policy Officer

Moses Znaimer, President of CARP (Canadian Association of Retired Persons) has announced the appointment of Bill VanGorder as CARP’s Interim Chief Policy Officer effective August 1, 2020.

Bill will fill the role while current Chief Policy Officer Marissa Lennox is on maternity leave.

“I’ve known and watched Bill in action for 12 years. He was the founding Chair of CARP’s Nova Scotia Chapter, is currently an active CARP Director at the national level, and is highly respected as the regional Maritimes go-to-guru on seniors’ issues. I’m confident that he will continue Marissa’s work as a powerful advocate for our 320,000 members across Canada, and for all Canadians As We Age,” said Znaimer.

Bill is a long-time seniors’ advocate, policy developer and media commentator. He is the immediate Past Chair of the Advisory Committee on Seniors’ Issues to the Nova Scotia Government (The Group of IX), on which he has served for the past 12 years, and is current Chair of the Serving Seniors Alliance Cooperative.
