New masking recommendations from Canada’s top doctor

Yesterday, the Public Health Agency of Canada came out with new recommendations for mask-wearing to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam is now suggesting, in light of recent “accelerated science” around masks, 3-layer non-medical masks with a filter layer. It was noted that throwing away the masks you have isn’t necessary—adding a filter is a good option.

As more activities move indoors this winter, and as families inevitably gather for the holidays, practicing “good mask hygiene” will become increasingly important.

If we want to see our grandkids in December (and we all do!) we must all play our part now to stop COVID-19 from gaining further ground in the second wave.

Stay safe!
