CARP Partner Spotlight: HearingLife Canada

This is a reprint of an email sent to us by CARP member Richard Moorse

Listening to your (Zoomer) radio station for many years, when it became necessary for me to have a hearing test and being a member of CARP, I decided to go to HearingLife.

Accordingly, I purchased my hearing aids there. That was three years ago. The following, I believe you should (know) because it shows the quality and the integrity of this company.

There are events that happen in our lives that help to restore our faith in humanity. Let me explain.

I have had my hearing aids for over three years and accordingly they are out of warranty, which makes the following even more significant.

During our vacation this past month, in Nova Scotia I lost my charging unit for my hearing aids. I was also out of supplies. I stopped in to Hearing Institute Atlantic, and Virginia met me and provided me with the supplies I needed. I was still hoping to recover my lost unit.

We continued on our vacation, and after several days returned to Kingston, Nova Scotia. Not having found my charging unit again, I talked with Virginia and inquired if she had a unit I could buy. She informed me that she didn’t have one.

What she did next was more than I ever expected. She charged my hearing aids, phoned the Simcoe office to have them order one for me and then proceeded to loan me a charger to take with me for the balance of my vacation. I would then, on my return to Ontario, drop the loaner unit in at the Simcoe office and that office return it to Kingston, NS.

When I got home, the Simcoe office had the unit ready for me and even though I offered to pay for the cost of returning the unit, Simcoe said they would look after its return.

What a wonderful act of service that Virginia, HearingLife both in Kingston, Nova Scotia and Simcoe, Ontario provided. This is certainly not the norm in this day and age.

Thank you HearingLife Canada in Kingston and Simcoe for setting an example of service that all should strive to attain.
