Saving Costs, Saving the Environment and Convenience for You! The Benefits of Digital Memberships

 

At the time of writing this article, Canada Post and its employees’ union remain in a stand-off and are keeping us on the verge of yet another postal strike. All the more reason to consider moving to a digital membership with CARP. 

 

You’ve had the option of choosing a digital membership for several years now and with it a $5 reduction in cost since we did not have to print and mail out a physical card.

 

However, administrative costs have been on the rise – the cost of the plastic, the cost of printing and the cost of mailing these cards have all gone up. But CARP has not increased the price of membership in over 12 years. 

 

We have now therefore moved to a standardized price of $19.95 for a one-year digital membership or $29.95 for a two-year digital membership.

 

Should you wish to continue receiving a physical plastic card, that option is available for an additional $5.00 charge. This will help to cover costs.

 

Digital Wallets

 

You have been asking and we have been working on it! CARP members may now add their CARP membership card to their digital wallet. Either Apple or Google. Whichever one you have.

 

We are in Phase 1 of this rollout so at this point this feature is only available on new orders. Whether you are a new CARP member or renewing for another year, you will be able to access this feature.

 

You will receive a confirmation email after your purchase and can tap on the icon wallet badge in that email. The card will automatically be added to your smartphone wallet.

 

If you do not have a smartphone or do not want to add the card to the wallet, you will receive an email with the card in it and you can print out the card. Currently you can only add the card to your wallet from this email, and this email only gets sent out once.

 

In Phase 1 of our rollout, we cannot resend the email. So if you provided an incorrect email address or misplaced the email, we cannot resend it until you renew again. (Sorry)
