Several CARP Members have recently contacted us reporting they have received suspicious phone calls regarding a CARP-sponsored contest. The caller informed them that they had won the contest and in order to receive their cash prize they first had to send in an amount of cash, anywhere from $1250 to $2500.

This call is a scam. Please do not send money. Call CARP (1-800-363-9736) if you have been contacted by someone proposing this scam. CARP recognizes that members are savvy enough to realize that legitimate contests never require a winner to send funds to claim their prize.
