The newly revised White Rock/Surrey chapter of Canadian Association of Retired Persons launched with a wine and cheese evening this month at Rotary Field House.

Special guest was Susan Eng, vice president of advocacy for the national organization, who spoke May 19 on pension reform and how CARP members can affect change in the country.

After about a year in inactivity, the local chapter – comprised of approximately 1,500 members – elected a new board, and is now looking to raise its profile, encourage new membership and promote the association’s ‘new vision of aging in Canada.’
